When I arrived in Berlin last year, I remember checking Blogfabrik’s website. I was already fan of iHeartBerlin – I understood they were related – and I thought to myself that it would be great to be part of such an interesting community. Six months later, I was a part of the team. How amazing! Especially because Blogfabrik is exactly what I expected: A community of content creators developing their creativity and willing to share their knowledge.
It all started last year. I had just arrived in Berlin, was discovering my surroundings and open to anything the city had to offer. I came here to develop my music career and I ended up as an Art Curator. How funny is that! Berlin is amazingly creative, cosmopolitan and easy-going, unless you are not open to experience it. I was working on my first exhibition, looking for ideas, and one day I came across “Arriving at the Berlin State of Mind”, a text by Keith Telfeyan published on iHeartBerlin. I was immediately struck by how his description of Berlin fit my vision. I got in touch with Keith, we met and it clicked. We are now friends. That was my first collab with a talented Berlin-based content creator, who was actually part of Blogfabrik. It was easy and very natural. I featured his text in the zine I had created for my first exhibition “Freer In Berlin #1 – New Femininity”.
“Freer in Berlin” took place at Blender, in Neukölln. And somehow, it went viral. Many people showed up that weekend. That’s the thing about Berliners: they are curious. That’s when I met Nicolas Simoneau from KALTBLUT Magazine. He showed up at the show and we had a lil chat, en français, mes amis. It was a lot of fun! We met again and talked about collaborating. We decided to organise an event together: “Digital Luv”. Once again, the connection was very natural. We started meeting at Blogfabrik once a week to prepare the event, as Nicolas was already part of the community. I remember being really impressed by the calm atmosphere at Blogfabrik and how easy it was to have access to all the tools we needed. The show took place at Blogfabrik’s event space, and was such a great success that one month later, I was a happy member of the Blogfabrik community.
Later, I met the amazing photographer Eylül Aslan at a magazine launch. We had a great talk that night, crazy but fun, and I hoped our paths would cross again. Well, it happened sooner than I thought – for a great job opportunity. Because of the growing notoriety of Curated by Girls, I got the chance to be involved in an amazing project for Nike and Vogue, thanks to Glutamat Kommunikation. They asked me to put up an all-girls creative team together, and I immediately thought it was the perfect opportunity to work with Eylül. The Nike shoot took place at the Blogfabrik photo studio – working in a familiar place eased some of the pressure, and it worked quite well. We worked together again on a video project for Vogue, which was an amazing experience as well. And of course the best part is that Eylül and I are now friends.
Most recently, I was lucky to take part in the important project “Ehe Für Alle”, organised by the iHeartBerlin team, in collaboration with Skyy Vodka. I met Frank Schröder and Claudio Rimmele from iHeartBerlin at Blogfabrik. Being a big fan of their blog, they could ask me anything and I would say yes. Haha, well almost anything! So I was super excited and honoured when Frank asked me to get involved in a photo shoot to support marriage for all. I am always available to show my support to a cause that matters, and to support people that are actively trying to make the world a better place. The best part is that I was there when Germany finally voted YES for marriage equality! About time guys! It was cold and rainy but we were there! A memorable time.
The beauty of all this is how it didn’t take me long to meet great people and do amazing things together. Working as a team is so important and often results in great friendships.

What’s next? I am really looking forward to the Content Creation Week in September. All the content creators at Blogfabrik will present a workshop or panel, sharing their knowledge of specific subjects related to creative work, like how to build your Instagram, how to write successful articles, how to build a web- site… stuff like that. It’s gonna be fun and super interesting!! Come!
